It’s Wrestlemania Season
March 17, 2017
Sunday, April 2nd is the biggest day of the calendar year in the world of sports… entertainment. Since the “brand extension” in July of last year, the WWE has gotten much more interesting and the split of the roster has allowed more and more stars to shine. So far, there have already been numerous matches for Wrestlemania 33 made, with most of the title matches being decided.
On the Raw side, we have the Universal Champion, Bill “never takes a bump” Goldberg, going up against the “beast incarnate,” Brock Lesnar in Raw’s main event. Not only that, but the United States champion, Chris Jericho, will be looking to put his former best friend, Kevin Owens, on the List of Jericho. Then, Raw Women’s champion, Bayley, will be defending her title against former 4x Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, and The Boss, Sasha Banks. Finally, The Undertaker will be going one-on-one with the Roman Empire, Roman Reigns. Raw’s side of the Wrestlemania card is looking to be an exciting one, but Smackdown Live’s side could be just as exciting.
At Wrestlemania, Smackdown Live’s main event is going to be WWE Champion, Bray Wyatt, defending his title against the Viper and former 12x World Champion, Randy Orton. After that, the Phenomenal AJ Styles will be going one-on-one with the commissioner of Smackdown Live, Shane McMahon. The match that nobody wants to see will be taking place at the showcase of the immortals. It will be The Miz and Maryse going up against JOHN CEEEEEEEENA and Nikki Bella in a mixed tag team match. And last, but certainly not least, the Smackdown Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss will be defending her title against all available Smackdown Women’s wrestlers. Currently that list includes Natalya, Becky Lynch, Carmella, and Mickie James.
Other matches include the 3rd annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which is basically just for guys that have nothing to do during the Wrestlemania season, as well as the Cruiserweight Champion Neville defending his title against Austin Aries in what is sure to be an exciting match. Wrestlemania is now just 2 weeks away and even though the card isn’t complete, it already has the potential to be one of the best Wrestlemania cards of all time.
