The Apocalypse is Here … AHS’ Apocalypse!
October 17, 2018
It’s officially fall, so for most people, this is a time for pumpkins, sweaters and fall colors. For American Horror Story fans on the other hand, this means the new season is finally here! This is a show like no other, and with it now being in its 8th season, many people are thrilled and can’t wait to see what’s in store for American Horror Story: Apocalypse.
*Some Spoilers Ahead!*
The storyline of the upcoming season always has fans eager to see what it’s all about. Season 8 of AHS was originally supposed to be its own story, completely different from the others, and season 9 would be a crossover of AHS’ season 1 (Murder House) and season 3 (Cult). But in mid-June, Ryan Murphy, the director of AHS, tweeted that the crossover would be happening in season 8 afterall. Murphy tweeted, “The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won’t be happening next year…because it’s happening THIS YEAR. AHS #8 WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER.” This made fans even more eager than before, with seasons 1 and 3 being two prior fan-favorite seasons.
This season is based off… you guessed it, the apocalypse, and only a few were able to survive the nuclear blast. So far, the season has taken place in an underground bunker, called Outpost 3, with the few survivors living out their days together. Most survivors are familiar faces from past AHS seasons, including Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, and Sarah Paulson. Some of the stars will be playing one character, others two and one even playing three (Sarah Paulson). According to Elle, “Paulson will quite literally be a triple threat this season. In addition to reviving Murder House’s medium Billie Dean Howard and Coven’s Supreme Cordelia Goode, she’s portraying a new character named Wilhelmina Venable.” There’s definitely a lot going on in the season and it has fans yearning to see what’s yet to come.
After 7 seasons of AHS, this show is still going strong with its unique storylines, amazing cast and excited fans. Ask anyone who watches this show and they’ll say it’s truly like no other. If you enjoy creepy, gorey, mysterious, and overall “hanging onto the edge of your seat” shows or movies, American Horror Story is definitely the show for you.
