Running Byrnes

As you cross the finish line and collapse to the floor, you slowly open your eyes and you are looking at the horizon with your face pressed to the freshly cut grass. You suddenly find yourself realising the ground is moving in waves much like the ocean, and your head is spinning.

This is the runner’s high.

It is a feeling that I live for.

My name is Erin Byrnes and I am runner. I have been on the cross country team since 9th grade in high school and was named captain this year as a senior. I was also on the team in 7th and 8th grade in middle school. Running is a huge part of my life and has made me who I am. During the course of this blog I will take you through the ups and downs of being a runner, a member of the team, and much more.

As the cross country season is coming to an end, it is a bittersweet moment for me as well as the other seniors. On Sunday, October 28th, our team raced at counties.
