Farmingdale Football Wraps Up Another Season

Well there you have it, yet another conclusion to a Farmingdale football season. The Dalers finished with a 6-2 regular season record and a 8-3 final record, as they made it all the way to the Nassau Conference I championship game. The Dalers had a fantastic season, of course, led by star running back and LIU commit, Kevin Wilson. Kevin Wilson was easily the team MVP. He was a finalist for the Thorpe award, which goes to the best player in all of Nassau County. Kevin finished with 1,005 yards rushing and 25 touchdowns. He also finished with 4 receiving touchdowns and 1 passing touchdown.

Quarterback Nick Lundin had a great year as well. He finished with 1,070 passing yards and had a 12-0 touchdown to interception ratio. Will McCarthy was Lundin’s go to guy all season, as he stands tall with a  6’4 frame, and he is a legit threat on both sides of the ball.

Nick Franco and Neil Levantini were forces at defensive end. Franco led in sacks and tackles for the Dalers as he put together a fantastic year. Farmingdale had 4 All-County players: Will McCarthy, Neil Levantini, Nick Lundin, and Kevin Wilson. They had one honorable mention All-County player, Nick Armano, and one All-Conference player, Nick Frigerio. Farmingdale’s offensive line was very impressive as most did not know how they would perform losing three starters from last year. The line helped the Dalers zoom pass Oceanside in the Nassau I semi-final game when Kevin Wilson scored five rushing touchdowns. After the game Wilson couldn’t have thanked his O-line enough, saying, “I can’t do it without the boys who grind down by down up front, all year long they were battling injuries and finally everyone was healthy, look what happened, it just shows how underrated and dominate they really are.”

The Dalers couldn’t get further than the Nassau Championship as they fell to Freeport 33-7. But congratulations to Farmingdale on being the only team on Long Island to battle Freeport strong all four quarters and to having a successful 2019 season.
