Jets: Week 13 Recap
It’s Week 13 and the Jets look to take momentum and get their second win in a row against the Philadelphia Eagles. Some notable things that took place before the game began, with Eagles young star quarterback Jalen Hurts out due to an ankle injury. With Hurts being out, the next man up was Gardener Minshew, who has lots to prove after getting traded from the Jaguars out of his starting job to the Eagles this past offseason. To sum things up, this game was pretty decent for the Jets. Despite the loss, there were more highs than other weeks where we would lose and I see that as a building block going into future weeks. The biggest strong point I see is Zach Wilson. We have watched him progress right in front of our eyes and he is starting to look like a very complete quarterback. Yes, there are some errors in his game, like his urge to play hero ball and throw 60 yards downfield when he could just check it down to the running back in the flat for an easy few yards, and his need to extend the play. Zach did end up winning rookie of the week for the second time in a row which is also a high of this week. Another rookie that played tremendous football was rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore, who just continues to impress week after week. He even broke a few records within the Jets organization, one being tying all Jets rookies in touchdowns in their first 11 games (6 TDs) and twice as many touchdowns as any Jet before turning 22 years old (per jetsxfactor on IG). It’s safe to say that the future is bright, especially with two first round picks coming in this upcoming draft that are both top 10 hopefuls. The Jets take on the New Orleans Saints next week, led by Taysom Hill.
