Week 4 Game Recap: Patriots vs Packers

Alex Petrosini, Staff Writer

It’s week 4 of the NFL season and the Patriots square off against the Packers at Lambeau field.  Green Bay is coming off a huge win against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Meanwhile, the Patriots just suffered a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, where starting quarterback Mac Jones got injured and is out for the next few weeks.  The Patriots enter this matchup as big underdogs, especially with backup QB Brian Hoyer making the start.

The game kicks off and the Patriots score a field goal on their first drive.  After both teams fail to score for the remainder of the quarter,  the Packers score a touchdown to start the 2nd Quarter.  After both teams mostly struggle on offense, it’s a 7-3 game with less than a minute to go.  Intercepted by the Patriots Defender for a Touchdown!   Aaron Rodgers throws just his second ever pick 6 at Lambeau field.  The Patriots have the lead to start the second half but the Packers quickly drive down the field and score.  The Patriots score on their next drive and both of these teams continue to go toe-to-toe.  It is now late in the 4th quarter and it is a tie game.  Aaron Rodgers throws a dime to an open receiver downfield, but it’s  Incomplete!  He dropped the touchdown throw! This forces the game to go into OT and the Patriots get the ball first.  The Packers force a 3-and-out and get the ball.  They proceed to march down the field and score. Ball Game.

Final Score:

Packers 27

Patriots 24
