Week 3 Recap: Cowboys vs Giants

The Dallas Cowboys’ displayed their talent during week 3 of the season, Monday, September 26th, against the New York Giants. The Cowboys Cooper Rush would beat the Giants  Daniel Jones 23-16. 

In quarter 1, it was a back-and- forth defensive battle. The Cowboys would allow a blocked field goal from 47 yards out. On the very drive, they would score a field goal, making the score 3-0. That field goal would be the only points for the quarter. 

Quarter 2 would start off when the Giants would tie the game up with a 42 yarder through the uprights. After that, the Cowboys would make an easy 28-yard kick for the lead. 

With no touchdowns scored by both Daniel Jones and Cooper Rush, the second half of the game would begin. Now, the offensive brawl would begin. The Giants would tie the game up after an impressive 51-yard kick. Now the Giants’ Saquon Barkley might’ve scored a touchdown two drives after the field goal, but the six-year backup Cooper Rush would come back. The next drive would be a quick rushing touchdown. But, on the other side of the ball, Demarcus Lawerence would leave the field with a foot injury. He had 3 sacks.

When the final quarter started, it was The Cowboys controlling the offensive end. On the first drive, Cooper Rush scores a passing touchdown to Ceedee Lamb from 26 yards out. This would put the Cowboys up 20-13. On the next drive for the Cowboys, the Giants defense would hold the Cowboys defense, holding them to a field goal. 

From scoring very minimal points in the first quarter, to the final drive interception by Cowboys defensive back Trevon Diggs, the Cowboys beat the Giants 23-16.
