Dalers Prove Themselves to be the Best Long Island Has to Offer
November 4th marked the last Friday night football game for the Dalers undefeated 2022 season. The Dalers stepped onto the Don Snyder Stadium football field for the last time this season to play the Port Washington Vikings in the first game of the Nassau Conference 1 playoffs. Farmingdale has been able to keep an undefeated record with crushing scores their entire season.
With an early 11 yard touchdown pass to fullback/lineman Trevor Gayron, Farmingdale gained an early 7-0 lead. With another touchdown pass, quarterback Anthony Licci broke the single season passing touchdown record for Farmingdale. Licci finished the game 8/9 for 125 passing yards with his 2 touchdowns thrown. Another key component to the Dalers’ success, Tomaso Ramos (RB), found a gap through the Vikings defense and had a 56-yard touchdown run that was the ultimate play to put the Dalers on top. The Dalers were able to get their ninth win of the season with this victory over the Vikings with an astonishing 35-0 victory. Most games for the resilient Dalers have ended in blowouts, like their 40-0 win against Hempstead and 42-7 win against Massapequa.
On November 12th, Farmingdale went on to play the Syosset Braves. The Dalers scored a total of 42 points and limited the Braves to 7 to advance to the Nassau County Championship against Massapequa. With touchdown passes to Tomaso Ramos and Carmine Scardina, the Dalers were able to maintain their undefeated season.
The next week, November 19th, the pressure was put on Farmingdale as they played their biggest rival, the Massapequa Chiefs. The energy was there as students and parents from Farmingdale came ready to support their hometown. With the work of Dillon Mehta and Jojo Burriesci, Farmingdale crushed their rivals 38-7.
UPDATE: On Saturday, November 26, Farmingdale varsity football defeated Ward Melville 42-20. Dalers are Long Island Class 1 Champions, finishing the season with a 12-0 record.
