Is Giannis Antetokounmpo a future Top 15-20 player of All Time?

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best basketball player in the Milky Way Galaxy. Giannis is a 28-year-old all-star powerhouse from Athens, Greece. Giannis was 19 when he was drafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, where he was drafted in the first round and was pick number 15 by the Milwaukee Bucks. Giannis consistently plays in the power forward position and is also known as the “Greek Freak,” the name deriving from the fact that he was born in Greece and he has a rare, freakish athletic ability. He is 7 feet tall with a 7 foot 3 inch wingspan while weighing in at 243 pounds.  

In the 2018-2019 NBA season, Giannis Antetokounmpo took the “crown” for the best player in the league from the well-established all-time great Lebron James. In that season, Giannis averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game and also had a defensive rating of 99.3 in his first MVP (Most Valuable Player) season. Giannis had also come extremely close to receiving DPOY (Defensive Player of the Year) this season, but he came in second place because of votes. He lost to Rudy Gobert, who averaged 12.9 rebounds, .8 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game, with a defensive rating of 100.3. The very next season (2019-2020), “The Greek Freak” joined other notable players like Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon in winning MVP and DPOY in the same season. Giannis achieved this in only 63 games, averaging 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block per game. 

Many people would say that Giannis is currently in his prime, but Antetokounmpo is only 28 years old. He continues to prove that he is not currently in his prime by getting better and better each season. Every season following Antetokounmpo’s fifth season (2017-2023) in the NBA, he has averaged more points, rebounds, and blocks than Lebron James. Giannis has also become the only player in NBA History to average 25+ points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block and 1 steal per game in multiple seasons. Championships also come into the conversation when you talk about who is the best player in the league. While Giannis has only one ring so far compared to Lebron’s four rings, Giannis is only 28 years old and still has many more years of his career left to prove why he is the best basketball player on planet earth.
