My Final Homecoming
November 18, 2016
Walking through the doors in early September 2013, I would have never thought how much it would mean to me to be a Daler. There are many reasons why it is so great to go to school here, but the way this school comes together for Spirit Week is something else.
When I was told as a freshman that high school would fly by, I didn’t think much of it, but now as a senior it just hit me that all of this is coming to an end soon, and it couldn’t have gone any faster. This school does so much to make this a week we’ll remember for a very long time; a different theme everyday, the fair in the commons, taping our old principal to a wall, the Pep Rally, and most importantly in my eyes, the game we had waiting for us Friday night against Uniondale. It was a clinic. We were all over them from the opening whistle, winning by a final score of 59-13.
Coach sat all the starters in the 4th quarter, and my friends and I took a knee and looked on as the clock winded down. It hit me that I played in my last homecoming game, and it officially ended my last Spirit Week. There truly is no place like Farmingdale and there is nothing more I love than being a Daler. I cannot be more thankful for the place I went to high school and grew up.
